Abstract:Operational efficiencies, removal mechanism and the effect of temperature on removal efficiency for pollutants were studied by combined EV-biochemical and ecological technology for treating rural domestic wastewater. The results of one-year monitoring showed that the process, combined the advantages of biotechnology and ecological engineering, could remove organic matters, nitrogen, phosphorus and fecal coli-group efficiently and stably. Temperature had a significant effect on removal efficiencies of total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen, whereas influenced organic matters and total phosphorus nonsignificantly. Therefore, the removal efficiencies of total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen declined under the low temperature in winter.
