Abstract:The priority assessment chemical list is of great significance for promoting the management of toxic and hazardous chemicals as well as protecting the environment and human health. The main objective of this study was to overview the development, principles and steps of screening methods for priority assessment chemicals, and summarize the various hazard properties that are focused on in the screening process, and then compare the list of priority assessment chemicals in various countries. In addition, it compared the status of its prohibition/restriction in various countries/organizations, and analyzed the relationship with our country's production. It is found that the list contains a total of 1,146 priority assessment chemicals, of which 239 are listed in more than two countries. Among them, 208 are produced and used in our country but 164 are not yet been listed in the inventory, and further risk assessment is urgently needed. Di (2 ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is listed as a priority chemical by all countries / organizations. Next, DEHP in plastic products should be strictly controlled or suitable substitutes should be found. This study provides a scientific basis for screening and environmental management of priority assessment chemicals.
