Abstract:
In order to understand the heavy metal pollution of soil and shallow groundwater by regenerate lead industry, we collected 96 soil and 4 groundwater samples from one regenerate lead corporation. The concentration and spatial distribution of Pb, Cd and As were quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that over standard rates of Cd, As and Pb in soil were 67.0%, 35.1% and 11.7%, respectively, showing localized enrichment around the corporation with the maximal content tens, or even thousands times higher than that of background soil. The content of Pb, Cd and As decreased with increased depth of soil due to low vertical mobility of these metals in soil. The content of Pb, Cd and As in groundwater was far below the quality standard value for groundwater.
