Abstract:With the application of Geographic Information Systems, environmental risk map displays the result of risk assessment in spatial way on the basis of analysis of environmental information and data by various risk assessments or prediction models. Environmental risk map helps environmental risk management, emergency response and real-time decision-making because of its perceptual intuition and broad coverage. This paper presented an overview of the main types of risk maps and summarized the key issues during mapping. At last, the application and development of risk map at home and abroad were briefly discussed.

Abstract:The sudden environmental pollution accident not only destroys the ecological environment, restricts social development, but also is a threat to human health. It is particularly important for environmental protection departments how to strengthen the emergency monitoring capacity construction, scientific and rational to deal with problems in the process of emergency monitoring. The advantages and disadvantages on all aspects of emergency monitoring for a sudden environmental pollution accident were analyzed and thought, while this study summed up experience and put forward some suggestions to provide reference for emergency monitoring of similar sudden environmental pollution accident.

Abstract:According to the relationship between the distribution of cyanobacteria bloom and weather conditions, combined with the research and the practice of early warning monitor to cyanobacteria bloom, this paper analyzed the effects of wind direction on cyanobacteria bloom migrating, and the variation of the cyanobacteria's density in different layers. Based on the analysis, an optimization scheme of sampling spot set up and sampling layer chose for early warning monitor to cyanobacteria bloom in Taihu Lake was given, and this scheme could provide scientific proof for the relevant departments around Taihu Lake to carry out early warning monitor to cyanobacteria bloom.

Abstract:n this paper, the theoretic foundation of Xenopus tropicalis applied to water quality monitoring was discussed. Subsequently, the application prospect of X. tropicalis in the field of environmental science was reviewed. We also summarized the method using Xenopus tropicalis embryo to monitor water quality and introduced some application examples. Finally, we discussed some problems on the application of X. tropicalis embryo in evaluating water quality. In all, X. tropicalis is a good model animal species for evaluating water quality. Therefore, studies on practical application of X. tropicalis should be enhanced in future.

Abstract:Arsenic is mostly in the form of particulate matter in the course of metal smelting, which pollutes the environment. In 2010, the state promulgated the "copper, nickel, cobalt industry emission standards" (GB 25467-2010), which requires the method, "Determination of arsenic in ambient air and exhaust using diethyl dithiocarbamate silver by spectrophotometer (Interim)" (HJ 540-2009) to detect arsenic. But there are certain problems in this method applied to detect arsenic in exhaust. Perchloric acid is explosive and dangerous at high temperature and the nitric acid can not effectively drain which will affect the reaction. In this paper, this method has been improved in the pre-treatment part by the actual laboratory simulation and field verification of the analysis method.

Abstract:Wastewater was separated as suspended and dissolved organic matter by 0.45μm glass fiber filter, dissolved organic matter was determined by liquid-liquid extraction-GC-MS with CH2Cl2, and extraction condition was optimized (extraction times, extraction time, inorganic salts content). The results show that, the optimized extraction condition was two times extraction of each pH range, holding time was 5 min; the amount of sodium chloride added was 15 g, which was evaluated by the extraction recovery. The analysis method is time-saving, accurate (The spiked recoveries were in the range of 91.1%~103%) and good precision (relative standard deviation was less than 5%), easy to operate.

Abstract:Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are a class of brominated flame retardants (BFRs), which are of particular concern due to their ubiquitous presence in environment and increasing environmental concentrations. The transformation of PBDEs in environment can be classified into two ways, abiotic and biotic transformation. The major abiotic transformation is photodegradation, where PBDEs debrominate rapidly under irradiance via radical reactions and lower brominated diphenyl ether and polybrominated dibenzofurans (PBDFs) are generated. Biotic transformation of PBDEs includes biotransformation by microorganisms and higher organisms, including human. Besides debromination, ether linkage fission, hydroxylation and hydroxylation/debromination are also metabolic pathways. This paper reviewed the current understanding on the transformation pathways of PBDEs and their products in environment. Suggestions are also given regarding to further study on the fate of PBDEs, and their ecological and health risk assessment.

Abstract:The heavy metal contents in the sediment were investigated on Nantong Hao River. The pollution of heavy metal was evaluated with the potential ecological risk index method, the geo-accumulation Index method and the comprehensive pollution index method. The tendency of the heavy metal contents during 2001-2011 was analyzed. The results demonstrated that the pollution had reached a medium degree and the ecological risk had reached a high degree. Cd, which had a high toxicity coefficient, had a higher potential ecological risk than the other heavy metal. More emphasis should be placed on Cd control in the next step.

Abstract:The plankton community and water quality in Fuhe River estuary was investigated from April to May in 2009.Based on the dominant species evaluation method, saprobic system and the chemical assessment, the eutrophication of Fuhe River estuary was evaluated. A total of 230 species plankton, which belong to 11 categories were identified. .The dominant species assessment method and nutritional status of chemistry index indicated that the diversion of downstream Fuhe River, mouth of the east and the west branch estuary all took on eutrophication. Saprobic system research showed that the forks of Fuhe River downstream and east branch estuary are between multi-pollution zone and β-mesosaprobic zone, while west branch estuary was in multi-pollution zone.Compared with the diversion, there were much more species and higher density of plankton in estuary. Estuaries also increased Chrysophyta,Xanthopyta and Pyrrophyt. These shown eutrophication of estuary degree was heavier than Jiaoshi Dam,while the west branch is the worst.

Abstract:City traffic noise is the widest range of impact, the biggest strength of environmental noise in the present city. It should be regarded as the important work for government to reduce the noise and improve the sound quality of the environment around the city. According to current international conception of "residential acoustical environment protection", which is the important branch of living environment, this paper put forward several important works in this system, in the meanwhile , take an active effect for city traffic noise impact assessment work in future.

Abstract:The implementation of environmental monitoring technologies competition is an important move for enhancing the environmental monitoring quality management capacity of environmental monitoring organizations at different levels and improving technical ability of monitoring personnel. It should be set as a persistent enactment and be standardized scientifically. This paper elaborated the key of the standardization of environmental monitoring technologies competition including definition of the meaning, establishment of standards, organization and implementation, supervision and arbitration, safety control and so on. Meanwhile, problem and solutions were proposed.
