Abstract:To achieve the goal of National Plan for Groundwater Pollution Prevention and Control (Year 2011-2020), which is about the overall establishment of the supervision systems for groundwater environment by 2015, we must first establish a groundwater monitoring network. Based on full analysis of groundwater monitoring status quo of China, this article summarizes the insufficiency in groundwater monitoring in China, and then propose suggestions for the construction and management of our groundwater environment monitoring network from the four following aspects. The four aspects are the improvement of laws and regulations, the construction and operation of the monitoring network, the introduction of advanced technology and personnel training, and finally the construction of information sharing system.

Abstract:Based on the existing reports of the anti-algal allelopathy study of aquatic emerged plants, the inhibition effects of 20 species in 15 families of aquatic emerged plants, including Acorus calamus, on the growth of 18 species of bloom-forming microalgae, including Anabaena flosaquae, are reviewed. The inhibitory mechanisms for allelopathy are clustered into 6 categories, which refer to modifying the submicroscopic structure, enzyme system, respiration, photosynthesis, cell membrane and intracellular micromolecule content, respectively. The application modes for anti-algal practice may be summarized as three types which are co-culture, allelochemical extraction and allelochemical direct exertion. Finally, combined with the frequent outbreak situation of harmful algal bloom in China and the urgent needs for effective bloom prevention approaches, the subsistent main problems in above areas are pointed out and the further study about emerged plant allelopathy and its application to algal bloom prevention are prospected.

Abstract:A novel and simple method for preparation of a novel SPME fiber was proposed by copolymerization of methacrylic acid (MAA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) by using glass capillary as “mold”. Pentachlorophenol as target analyte was used to evaluate the extraction performance of home-made coating. Experimental headspace-SPME (HS-SPME) parameters were investigated and optimized by orthogonal array experimental designs. The analytical method for determination of pentachlorophenol was established in tap water sample under the optimum conditions with the method detection limit 1 ng L-1linear range 2-5000 ng L-1, correlation coefficients 0.9999, relative standard deviation 8.9% (RSD, n=5)and the recoveries of spiked tap water sample 110.8%.

Abstract:Analysis of soil and groundwater samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) have been build to measure the total concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons including volatile range C6 to C10 and extractable range organics C10 to C40. The methods were developed on the basis of purge trap ,solvent extraction and sonic extraction and then analyzed by gas chromatography equipped with flame ionization detection subsequently. Gasoline, diesel, and lubricating oil were used as the external calibration standards and the spike area is used for quantification. As for groundwater and soil samples, the detection limit for gasoline (C6-C10) are 0.04mg/L and 0.42 mg/kg ,and for diesel(C10-C40) are 0.06mg/L and 4.9 mg/kg. The precision and accuracy of this method are both fine.

Abstract:Currently, pass rate of the monitoring of domestic single point measurement of flue gas flow monitoring system based on the single probe with the reference method monitoring is not high .The paper proposes a novel porous flue gas flow meter based on the average differential pressure of pilot tube method. The comparison of the results between manual monitoring and flue gas flow monitoring through different installation location and number of porous flue gas flow meter, verified that a certain number of porous flue gas flow meter installed in appropriate place could satisfy the requirements .

Abstract:article introduces the disadvantages of gas separation tube which is used in analyzing sulfide in water by color method with direct absorption in practical operation, and the advantages of KOH solution as a replacement of gas separation tube are also proposed. The feasibility of the substitution method is verified by experiment.

Abstract:A new method was established by using ion chromatography to detect the propionic acid in organized and inorganized waste gas while the conventional inorganic anions show no interference on the method. By analyzing the actual exhaust gas samples, the recoveries for propionic acid were 91.5% ~ 106%. The method has a convenient,sensitive,and reliable performance of quick speed, with a requirement of a small amount of sample, and no need of complicated pretreatment at the same time.

Abstract:The concentrations and pollution levels of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the soil of a relocated chemical industry of Nantong were studied. The results showed that the PAHs concentrations of workshop and warehouse soils are in the range of 200-300 ng/g, within the PAHs pollution level of farmland soil of Nantong City. PAHs concentration of the parking lot soil is 3435 ng/g. The pollution level is higher than the normal farmland, and comparable to the PAHs level of the soil of transportation routes. The PAHs pollution is mainly come from automotive exhaust pollution and the main pollutants are PAHs with 4 or more than 4 rings. If the parking lot zone continues to be used for roads or parking lot, PAHs remediation is not needed.

Abstract:The concentration of 6 heavy metals in the surface sediments of Jialu River were determined by atomic absorption(AAS), atomic fluorescence spectrometry(AFS) and inductance coupling emission spectrum(ICP-OES).And by burning, the organic matters can be measured. The sediments pollution assessment was carried out using geoaccumulation index. The sources of heavy metal contamination were estimated with the principal component analysis (PCA). Results show that the concentrations of As、Cu、Ni、Zn were obviously higher than those in surface sediments of Huai River in 2004 .The order of the analyzed heavy metals is as follows As>Cu>Zn>Pb>Ni>Cr. By estimating the sources of heavy metal contamination using the Principal component analysis (PCA), it was found that the first two components accout for 58.85% and 19.74% respectively. The industrial and agricultural wastewater, degradation of organic matter ,rock weathering and erosion and geochemical changes are the main sources of heavy metal contamination.

Abstract:Through studying the vegetation current situation and dynamic changes of Gucheng lake, the views for aquatic vegetation control and recovery were suggested, and also the basis for scientific management of submerged aquatic vegetation were provided for the similar lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River basin.

Abstract:By using comprehensive nutrition state index for 2008 to 2011 to evaluate the water quality condition in Yangtze River water plant in Haimen, the results show that, the water has presented the eutrophication trend. Combined with the drinking water current situation, we must take measures such as controlling the exogenous and endogenous emissions and restoring ecosystem to prevent water eutrophication and ensure the public safety of drinking water sources.

Abstract:This paper mainly described the effect ,experience and achievements of Suzhou environmental monitoring standardization construction, as well as the exploration and practice in the modernization building of environmental monitoring. Besides, further studies explore how to consolidate the achievements in standardization construction and march toward environmental monitoring modernization.
