    • The Formulation Methods of Priority Water Pollutants and Environmental Quality Standards in the EU and Their Reference Significance to China

      Abstract:This paper has summarized the defining methods, procedures and lists of the priority pollutants and priority hazardous substances in water environment under the EU Water Framework Directive and Directive on Environmental Quality Standards, as well as the formulation methods of surface water quality standards and biological quality standards and their monitoring requirements. It is proposed that China learn from the above Directives, clarify water environmental management and pollutant control objectives, formulate technical specifications for priority substances screening and evaluation, assess and determine surface water priority substances continuously, establish a monitoring and surveillance system for potential high-risk substances, improve the elements system for surface water environmental quality standards, so that the protection of water environment is more scientific and reasonable.

    • Judging Research on Risk Monitoring Level of Risk Sources Surrounding the Water Source——Take Zhenjiang Zhengrunzhou Water Source as an Example

      Abstract:Taking Zhenjiang Zhengrunzhou Water Source as an example, considering the heavy workload of simulation of pollution accidents caused by the large number of the existing industrial sources and accident simulation of the wharf sources being unavailable, we bring forward a method for judging risk monitoring level of risk sources around water source based on conventional risk impact. A calculation method for the location sensitivity index reflecting the sensitivity of the risk source to the location of the water source is proposed from the distance between the risk source, the water source along the coast line and the vertical shoreline, and the upstream and downstream relationship. The risk source location sensitivity combined with the risk source’s risk has been used to determine the routine risk impact of the risk source on the water source, then determine the risk monitoring level of the risk source around the water source. The result shows that there are 4 priority monitoring risk sources around the water source of Zhengrunzhou, they mainly concentrated in the Dantu Economic Development Zone in the upper reaches of the water source. The 12 risk sources of downstream and on the opposite side of the water source are low-frequency monitoring levels. The other 24 risk sources are priority monitoring and general monitoring levels.

    • Analysis on the Formation Mechanism of an Air Pollution Process

      Abstract:Based on the data of Dongguan Atmospheric Monitoring Supersite, a typical air pollution process in Dongguan during December in 2017 have been comprehensively studied including meteorological data, chemical composition of air particles and pollution source. The results showed that the primary pollutant was PM2.5,and its daily mean mass concentration was 86 μg/m3. The main chemical components of PM2.5 were OC, NO3- and SO42-, accounting for 19.7%,16.1% and 14.9%, respectively. Under the unfavorable weather conditions, secondary organic aerosols, nitrates and sulfates were rapidly produced by primary pollutants from local emission and regional transport, and that was the main causes of this air pollution. The main source of PM2.5pollution were vehicle exhaust(27.7%)and secondary inorganic aerosols (19.0%).

    • Comparative Study of Two Methods on Extraction of As, V and Cr in Soil

      Abstract:Two methods of AB-DTPA and CaCl2- DTPA on extraction of elements As, V and Cr in soil were compared in details in three aspects,including matrix effects,digestion and extraction efficiency.The results showed that,the AB-DTPA extraction method was better than CaCl2-DTPA extraction method.When determined by ICP-OES,the detection limits were 0.007 ~ 0.019 mg/kg.The recovery rates of soil samples were 95.0%~119.0%,and the relative standard deviations were 2.42%~6.30%.This method was quick and efficient with high sensitivity,accuracy and precision.It enables multiple elements to be simultaneously extracted,which expands the scope of its application.

    • Discussion on the Suitability for Determination of 19 Kinds of Volatile Organic Compounds in Surface Water by Automatic Online Monitor

      Abstract:Through the determination of standard and actual samples, the suitability for determination of 19 kinds of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in surface water by automatic online monitor was discussed. The result showed that the detection limits of 19 kinds of volatile organic compounds by automatic online monitor were 0.02 ~0.11 μg/L, the correlation coefficients of calibration curve were more than 0.995, the relative standard deviations were 1.2%~ 3.6%(n=6), the recoveries were 91.9%~102%.The precision and accuracy were good that automatic online monitor can meet the need of the determination of trace VOCs in surface water. Because of the presence of interference, automatic online monitor can not accurately qualitify or quantify certain components, such as dichloromethane and chloroform, which had low boiling point and short retention time. For testing complex standard samples, setting up standby chromatographic procedures and building a sample retention system, the qualitative accuracy can be improved, and the accuracy of data can be improved.

    • Determination of Nitrochlorobenzenes in Water by Gas Chromatography with Solidphase Extraction

      Abstract:A method was developed for the determination of fifteen kinds of nitrochlorobenzenes in water by gas chromatography with solidphase extraction.The optimal conditions were discussed in this research, the HLB column was selected as a solid phase extraction column,and a mixed solvent of cyclohexane:acetone (3∶1,V∶V) was used for elution.The detection limits ranged from 0.011 μg/L to 0.040 μg/L.The recoveries of spiked reagent water were 73.6%~119%,and the relative standard deviations were 6.1%~13.9%.The recoveries of the spiked actual water sample were 64.1%~118%,and the relative standard deviations were 5.8%~15.6%.The present method meets the requirement of determination of nitrochlorobenzenes in water samples with simple matrix.

    • Contrast Verification Research on Ringelman Blackness of Electronic Snapshot for Black Smoke Truck

      Abstract:Photoelectric smoke detector and electronic snapshot system for black smoke truck were both used to measure the Ringelman blackness of the same truck at the same time. And then, based on the results of photoelectric smoke detector, the measurement results of electronic snapshot system for black smoke truck were corrected. The result shows that the correlation coefficient between the measurement results of electronic snapshot system for black smoke truck and those of photoelectric smoke detector is about 0.977, the average error is -0.015 and the variance is 0.032 after correction. It means the two measurement methods show good correlation and comparability with each other. The photoelectric smoke detector can be used to build the traceability chain for the electronic snapshot system for black smoke truck.

    • Research on the Distribution Characteristics and Chemical Speciation of Heavy Metals in PM2.5 in Nanjing

      Abstract:During January, April, July and October 2017, PM2.5 samples were collected at urban sites in Nanjing, while the distribution characteristics and chemical speciation of heavy metals were analyzed by BCR extraction and ICP-MS. The results showed that the heavy metal concents were ranked as: Fe>Zn>Pb>Mn>Cu>Cr>As>Ni>Cd. Zn, Pb, Cd, Cu, Mn and As in PM2.5 existed mainly in the acid-exchangeable species.The proportion of Ni in the acid-exchangeable species, oxidizable species and residual species were near, accounting from 26% to 37%. Approximately 71% of Fe and 54% of Cr existed in the residual species. The bioavailability coefficient (k) of Zn in PM2.5 were the highest, indicating the strongest migration ability in the environment, while the k values of other eight heavy metals ranged from 0.2 to 0.8.

    • Analysis of Main Pollutants in Motor Vehicle Exhaust in Suzhou City

      Abstract:In order to study the characteristics of the main pollutants in the vehicle exhausting gas in Suzhou, the SPSS19.0 time series modeler was used to predict Suzhou motor vehicle ownership in the next 5 years (2017—2021), the main pollutant concentration monitoring data of the roadside station and the national control point in Suzhou were analyzed and compared. The results showed that Suzhou motor vehicle ownership shows an upward trend in next 5 years. Motor vehicle ownership will reach 3.731 million in 2020, increase 37.5% (compared to 2014). The concentration of NO2 in roadside stations was slightly higher than that in national control city points with no significant difference. The concentration of CO in roadside stations was significantly higher than that in national control city points. The concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 in roadside stations was slightly higher than that in national control city points. The concentration of benzenes in roadside stations was higher than that in national control city points.

    • Distribution and Source Apportionment of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Agricultural Soil from A Certain Area

      Abstract:This study has analyzed the pollution status and characteristics of 16 PAHs in agricultural soil from a certain area in 2012 and 2016 in this paper. The results showed that the total average PAHs in the soil of the study area was 1 748 ng/g in 2012 and 3 248ng/g in 2016 respectively. The concentration level is significantly higher than that of other literature research areas, which implies that the soil of the study area was contaminated by PAHs. The PAHs of the soil in the research area were mainly 3-4 ring PAHs, the contents of BbF, BaP, Phe, BaA, Fla, Pyr, Chr, Flu were relatively high, their pollution source came mainly from coking plants and coal and natural gas combustion, the traffic source also made some contributions to PAHs contamination.
